Hi there! I'm Elise, a teaching artist in music, performing arts, and creativity.

For me, being a teaching artist is more than just a profession—it's a calling that combines my love for performing and artistry with my dedication to education. In my career, these two aspects have always been equally important, with each informing and enhancing the other.

I embarked on the path of teaching artistry right from the start, fueled by a deep passion for both music and teaching. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Education from the University of Florida, and later pursued my Masters in Music for Vocal Performance at Temple University. As a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), I have continuously expanded my knowledge and skills in order to provide the best learning experiences for my students.

Currently, I take immense pride in teaching a diverse array of talented and creative musicians in my own studio. Whether it's voice, piano, guitar, or even ukulele, I embrace the opportunity to work with students of all levels and ages. My teaching experience spans across various settings and organizations, including Bucknell University, Opera Philadelphia Sounds of Learning Program, Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble Education Program, TakeLessons Live, public school systems in PA, NY, and FL, Zing Productions, New Groove Music Studio, Paul Michael School of Music, Bright Lights Academy, New York Music and Arts, Sister Cities Girlchoir, Baldwin School, em2CONNECT, and Susquehanna Valley Chorale's Camp eXpresso.

Regardless of the level of proficiency, genre, age, or area of focus, I approach each student with the intention of fostering creativity and independent learning. I believe in creating a supportive and inspiring environment that nurtures their motivation, joy, and sense of purpose. By cultivating these qualities, I aim to empower my students to become passionate and skilled musicians who can confidently express themselves through their art.

In addition to my teaching and performing knowledge, I also have valuable experience as a director. I have had the privilege of directing musicals at both the high school and college levels. Productions include "James and the Giant Peach," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Hansel and Gretel," and various cabaret-style performances at places and institutions including Bucknell University, Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble and Zing Productions. These experiences have allowed me to explore the creative and collaborative process of bringing stories to life on stage.

Moreover, I deeply believe in the power of music to bring people together and build a sense of community. In my studio, I prioritize creating opportunities for my students, their families, and the community at large to come together and share in the joy of music. I produce concerts, workshops, and gatherings that serve as platforms for artistic expression and celebration. By fostering this sense of community, I encourage my students to engage with music on a deeper and more meaningful level. It allows them to see the transformative impact of music beyond individual practice, inspiring them to connect with others, collaborate, and collectively create something beautiful.

Through these communal experiences, my students not only develop their musical skills but also cultivate empathy, communication, and a sense of belonging. It is within this supportive and collaborative environment that they can truly explore their artistic potential and find their own unique voice. I am dedicated to nurturing a space where music is not just a solitary pursuit but a shared endeavor that fosters connection and enriches the lives of all involved.

By embracing the roles of a teaching artist, director, and community advocate, I strive to make a lasting impact in the lives of my students and the broader community. I am committed to empowering young musicians, fostering creativity, and instilling a lifelong love for music and the performing arts. Together, we can create a world where music is celebrated, shared, and cherished by all.
